PULLMAN,, WA - A Pullman man is in jail after leading Moscow Police on a car chase through town Monday night and crashing his SUV into a creek.

Moscow Police Chief David Duke said 21-year-old Malcom Meggerson was headed east on Highway-8 shortly after 5:00 p.m. when someone reported he was driving erratically. Duke said police officers caught up with him near the downtown area, but Meggerson didn't pull over when they tried to stop him. Duke said Meggerson ran multiple red lights while heading eastbound on Third Street, traveling at speeds up to 55 miles an hour. The two-minute car chase ended when Meggerson crashed his vehicle into Paradise Creek.

He was arrested and taken to Gritman Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries, and then transferred to the Latah County Jail. Duke said police are investigating the case to determine if he was under the influence.
