PULLMAN, WA - In Pullman Friday night, a Colfax woman was arrested for stealing a car while under the influence of drugs, and crashing it into another vehicle.
Pullman police said 26-year-old Cara Zimmerman stole an unlocked car from the UPS parking lot that belonged to an employee who had left the keys in it. She was heading towards Colfax on Davis Way, when she bounced off a guardrail and into oncoming traffic causing a head-on crash.
"She blew 0.00 on the breathalyzer," said Pullman Police Commander Chris Tennant. "However, we have drawn her blood, and we do believe that she was under some type of drug, or narcotic, or prescription medication."
Zimmerman caused the head-on collision around 7 p.m. Friday, that sent one women to the hospital. Zimmerman was arrested for vehicular assault, theft of a motor vehicle, reckless driving, and driving under the influence, but was released later that night. Once Pullman police has the results of Zimmerman's blood test, they will forward the charges to the Whitman County prosecutor.
