Residents are asked to keep grass mowed and watered.
PULLMAN, WA - A burn ban for the area surrounding Pullman is still in effect.

Whitman County District 12 declared the burn ban Wednesday evening due to extremely dry conditions.

Pullman Fire Chief Mike Heston gave us some advice on how you can hopefully prevent any accidental fires on your property.

“Take away the piles of wood, and any dead grass, and mow the grass down, keep things green as much as possible, piles of wood around your place, cut back some branches and juniper bushes," said Fire Chief Heston. "Those things lead to extra fires.”

The burn ban will remain in place until further notice.
