Call of Duty video game lands Moscow male in jail

MOSCOW, ID - A Moscow man who was playing a violent video game too loudly ended up getting arrested Tuesday afternoon.

Shortly before 5:00 p.m., Moscow police responded to a call from a man who reported hearing two gunshots and seeing an agitated man run out of the apartments on Lenter Street. When the cops arrived, they came in contact with the man who was making the noise and asked him if everything was okay.

"The male was uncooperative and denied anything occurring on," said Moscow Police Chief David Duke. "Did say that there was another roommate inside the apartment, but we could not get that roommate to come to the door either, so they made forced entry."

Police did a protective sweep of the apartment and found that no one was injured. They didn't find a gun in the sweep, but they found a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia that belonged to the agitated man's roommate. Police then arrested 33-year-old Thomas Downs for misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and he was taken to the Latah County Jail. Police suspect that the sound of gunshots came from the Call of Duty video game that the roommates were playing.
