Vehicle rollover claims life of young Clarkston woman
LEWISTON, ID - A young Clarkston women died Wednesday after her vehicle struck a pole in Nez Perce County.

Authorities said that 26-year-old Samantha Taber was traveling southbound on U.S. 95 when her car went into the median and struck a weigh-in-motion pole at the Port of Entry. According to Idaho State Police, the car rolled several times before it came to rest on the driver side, and Taber died at the scene as a result of her injuries.

"I haven't got that information if alcohol is a factor or not, we always look into that for sure," said ISP Captain Lonnie Richardson. "Um I do know that seat belts weren't worn so it's a tragedy that someone lost their life due to that."

The southbound roadway was closed for a half hour, as the Nez Perce County Sheriff's Office, ISP and the Lewiston Police Department assisted with the wreck. The next of kin has been notified.
