Lewiston City Council vote 5-2 to amended URA plan

Lewiston City Council vote 5-2 to amended URA plan
LEWISTON, ID - At Monday's meeting, the Urban Renewal Agency is now one step closer to a plan.

A public hearing was held unveiling potential future projects for the city of Lewiston. URA Staff Liaison Laura Von Tersch talks about why the agency feels the URA is a great tool for the city to use.

"For every dollar invested by the Urban Renewal Agency, to date we have had an overall return of investment of $12.10 of taxable value," said Von Tersch.

The council approved the first reading to adopt the amended plan in a five to two vote. Mayor Pro Tem R-J Johnson and councilor Clinton Daniel voted against it, saying they'd rather close two districts and concentrate their efforts on street maintenance.
