JEROME, Idaho (AP) — Police in southern Idaho have arrested three people after a nearly nine-hour standoff in Jerome.

Jerome police detective Dan Kennedy told The Times-News that two men and a woman were involved in the standoff at a home early Sunday morning. Police declined to immediately release any details about what caused the standoff. Officers wouldn't say whether the standoff was connected to reports of shots fired in town earlier that night.

Neighbor Laura Minard said she woke up at 3:30 a.m. to see her street blocked off and SWAT officers arriving to the scene. She said two people were taken out of the house before police used tear gas to arrest the third.
