MOSCOW, ID - Thursday night, two accidents on Highway 95 north of Thorncreek Road sent one person to the hospital and blocked traffic in both directions for nearly two hours.
According to Idaho State Police, a Saturn car was traveling southbound on Highway 95, crossed over the center lane, and flipped off the side of the road. Officials said that the accident was likely caused by the weather.
"We had light snow during the daytime, and the temperatures dropped," said Idaho State Police Senior Trooper Chad Montgomery. "The roads were still wet and everything iced up."
According to ISP, 42-year-old Brian Smith of Moscow was driving the Saturn, and he was sent to Gritman Medical Center. Neither of the two passengers were injured. The bottleneck in traffic caused another driver to rear-end a vehicle just a few hundred feet north of the first collision, but no one was hospitalized. According to ISP, all parties in both accidents were wearing seat-belts.
