INBC has urgent need for blood donations in the Valley

LEWISTON, ID - Inland Northwest Blood Center is asking for your help as blood donations have decreased in the Valley.

INBC is the only provider of blood and blood products to more than 35 hospitals and medical centers in the region and depends on the generosity of 200 blood donors each day.

According to INBC Communications Officer Elizabeth Giles, the Lewiston Center is nearly 20% below last year's blood donor turnout.

"To make blood donation a regular part of your day really means a lot for our area patients," said Giles. "And to make sure we still have our Lewiston community coming out to support is critical for the blood center."

INBC encourages everyone to consider making a donation soon, as September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Cancer patients are the largest consumers of blood and blood products and need up to eight transfusions a week. This month's INBC blood donations help to honor the fight against cancer.
