MOLALLA, Ore. - The Clackamas County sheriff's office says a stabbing suspect fled deputies early Friday by speeding off in a patrol car.
Deputies responded about 1 a.m. to a stabbing in the 16800 block of South Howards Mill Road. A deputy who arrived a few minutes later noticed a patrol car quickly driving away with no lights on.
Deputies said the suspect, 25-year-old Tara Axmaker of Milwaukie, stole and car. They gave chase and eventually arrested Axmaker when she lost control and crashed near the intersection of Highway 213 and Molalla Road. She was not injured.
Axmaker faces charges of attempted murder, first-degree aggravated theft, attempted assault of a public safety officer, unauthorized use of a vehicle, eluding a police officer, reckless driving and two parole violations.
A 33-year-old man who was stabbed was flown to a hospital. His condition is unknown at this point.
Police say Axmaker and the victim know each other, but it's not clear at this point what the nature of their relationship is.
