South entrance to Stadium Way will be closed until January 2nd

PULLMAN, WA - The southern half of Stadium Way in Pullman will close Saturday for the demolition of the Nevada Street Bridge.

Washington State University said they hope to re-open Stadium Way on January second, but until then Pullman residents will not be able to use the campus road as a shortcut. University officials said they don't expect the closure to cause any traffic problems, since the students are on winter break.

"I think if people have patience and keep in mind that it's for their safety and the safety of those working on the project, and just be a little more tolerant that they have to take a different route, it will be better for everybody," said WSU Assistant Chief of Police Steve Hansen.

Stadium Way will be closed from the southern entrance of campus to Grimes Way. According to WSU Police, drivers traveling southbound through campus will be detoured onto Grimes Way, along Airport Way and back onto the Moscow-Pullman Highway.
