SPALDING, ID - This week is Spring break for many children in the Valley, and what better way to spend that time than having fun outdoors.

The Nez Perce National Historical Park held a family day Wednesday afternoon for kids of all ages. A variety of fun and educational activities were setup for kids to participate in. Doll making, bead work and the nature activities are just a few of the free activities kids got to choose from.

"I'm having a lot of fun, I like the necklace making," said Genesee Elementary student Delia Hubbard.

"A bag, tie a knot right here and then put string and beads on it," said Lapwai Elementary student Moses Pappan.

After the kids finished all the activities they were given a Junior Ranger patch. Park rangers encourage families to head out to the historical park for a picnic and to learn about Nez Perce culture.
