$9,000 will be spent from an ID. Bureau of Homeland Security grant.
LEWISTON, ID - Grant money will now be put to good use following the decision by the Nez Perce County Commission.

They've decided to spend $9,000 from an Idaho Bureau of Homeland Security grant to buy much needed software for Nez Perce County. The software will make it easier for the county to share information with surrounding regions. While the software will be for the county, coordinator Bill Reynolds said several local entities will benefit from it as well.

"One of the better things is that we will be able to do web mapping services," said Nez Perce County, GIS Coordinator, Bill Reynolds. "Just put maps out on the web for planning and zoning, emergency management, elections, those kind of things in the assessors office."

The original grant was for more than $88,000, and will be closed by this summer. The Nez Perce County Sheriffs Office will also use money from the grant later this year
