PULLMAN, WA - Moscow and Pullman's chambers of commerce teamed up to bring a social media boot-camp to the Palouse, and there wasn't an empty seat in the house.

Local business owners and marketing directors in the region spent Thursday morning learning about how to use social media to boost their business online. Attendees said they came to keep up with the ever-changing world of social media.

"Probably the biggest thing I'm learning about is Twittering, and I'm hoping to do some more of that so I can talk to some of the people that I know," said Whitman County Librarian Diane Harp

"We're getting ideas of different ways that we can use the different media forms to benefit the business and to communicate to the customers what we're doing," said B&L Bicycles Owner Brice Erickson.

The featured speaker was Nectar Media Consulting Founder Josh Wade and he focused mostly on Twitter and Facebook. He talked about ways to get noticed on Facebook feeds, reviewed Twitter language, and stressed the importance of pictures and video in social media.
