Family escapes smoke filled house in Lewiston

LEWISTON, ID - The investigation continues of a fire at a house in the Lewiston-Orchards.

Almost a dozen different fire engines arrived to help. Lewiston Firefighters said around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday evening, a resident from inside the large home noticed smoke coming from the floors and called 9-1-1. Everyone, including the kids were able to get outside to safety, so firefighters could put out the smoke.

At this point, it looks like it was an electrical fire, that started in the basement. Lots of damage was done and a portion of Grelle avenue was partly blocked for a couple of hours.
