LEWISTON, ID - If it's too good to be true, well it probably is! That was the message Thursday at the statewide program 'Scam Jam'.

Program leaders work to inform older citizens, their families and caregivers about frauds and abuses that target seniors. Idaho's attorney general, Lewiston's Chief of Police Steve Orr as well as Idaho's Attorney General Lawrence Wasden were just a few of the speakers at this years event.

"The most important thing you can have to prevent yourself from being scammed is education," said Wasden. "And knowing what the scammers are up to that's the education that allows you to say no."

Wasden said the elderly get taken advantage of the most because they're the most trusting demographic.
