LEWISTON, ID - A long time City of Lewiston employee will be turning in his badge at the end of the month as he looks to retire.

Lewiston Police Department Captain, Tom Greene will serve the citizens of Lewiston for only a few more weeks after announcing his plans to retire. Captain Greene, who also serves as SWAT leader, has been with the Lewiston Police Department for 37 years.

When he started, there wasn't any hot water and only two portable radios. While a lot has changed over the decades, he said his love for the city has always stayed the same.

"I'm going to miss everything really," said Greene. "I think I'll be happy but I'm gonna miss everything about the job. It's been my life. It's just change is difficult, you just don't walk away and not miss things. But I'm looking forward to new horizons."

Captain Green said relaxing with family and friends and enjoying the outdoors will make up a large part of his retirement. Greene's last day will be on the 25th of this month.
