Regence gives helping hand with Vision House at NICH
LEWISTON, ID - The doors of the Northwest Children's Home were opened to the public Friday morning to view the remodel of the Vision House.

In 2011 Regence BlueShield of Idaho entered into a three year partnership with the children's home, providing the organization with primary funding to complete a three phase construction project in the home.

The second phase of construction is now complete with a 900 square foot addition for children to receive individual and group therapy. The $200,000 donation from Regence BlueShield of Idaho also helped update the fire safety system throughout the residential facility.

"We believe not just one time helping an organization but how do you make it sustainable to support the mission, and your mission when you're dealing with children and the needs that they have, is extremely important," said Regence BlueShield of Idaho President Scott Krieling.

The Northwest Children's Home was established in 1908 and provides residential treatment and educational services to abused, neglected and abandoned children ages six to 17. The third phase of construction is scheduled for completion in 2013.
