LEWISTON, ID - The fire that engulfed the Bel Air Motel forced all the residents to be removed from their homes until further notice.

The American Red Cross has stepped in to help three of those families find a place to stay and continue to assist more residents. American Red Cross District Manager Deborah Snyder said local organizations including the KRLC Quilters and Walmart are donating items for those affected by the fire.

"The American Red Cross helps and assists families who are affected by disaster and in this case we have the opportunity," said Snyder.

Snyder said they're able to provide food, clothing and health services to the Bel Air Motel residents.

According to the Lewiston Fire Department the cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time.
