Dan Rather is the recipient of the Edward R. Murrow Lifetime Achievement Award

MOSCOW, ID - Distinguished former CBS News Anchor Dan Rather is being recognized Thursday night as a recipient of the Edward R. Murrow Lifetime Achievement Award.

Rather's keynote address, titled "The Power of the Murrow Legacy," will take place tonight at 7p.m. in the Beasley Coliseum. Rather anchored the CBS Evening News for more than 20 years, covering major historical events including the civil rights movement, JFK's assassination and four days of breaking news coverage of 9-11.

During the 38th Edward R. Murrow Symposium, retiring communication professor, Glenn Johnson will also be recognized for his 33 years of teaching.
