RV Parts Store owner files Tort Claim against city of Lewiston
LEWISTON, ID - A local business owner has filed a tort lawsuit against the City of Lewiston because of a construction project.

RV Parts Store owner Dan King has filed a tort claim because of what he calls negligence on the city's part to provide appropriate access to his business, located at Fifth and Beacey in Lewiston, during the First and Fifth street reconstruction project. King says that prior to the project's start he was promised by the city that access to his business would not be interrupted. That's a promise he claims was broken and in turn resulted in a significant profit loss for his business.

"When you have that perception that there is no access and you come down and see signs that say road closed to thru traffic, road closed, barricades, those are the things that turn people away, that's what this is all about," said King.

King is asking for $40,000 in damages in the claim. KLEW News has reached out to the city of Lewiston, however they have not returned our calls.
