Festivities for the Lentil Festival begin Friday night.
PULLMAN, WA - Now that the university students are back in the area and the first day of school is rapidly approaching, it's time to kick-off the National Lentil Festival.

“It’s a big welcome back party to Pullman, and celebrating the harvest of the lentils," said Pullman Tourism Director Vicki Leeper. "So it is huge, it’s about 26,000 people that we’re anticipating to come into town.

The party will start Friday night with a street fair in downtown Pullman. There will be free lentil chili, live music, and a micro brew taste test.

On Saturday, there will be activities all day long, starting with the Tase T Lentil five-K run at eight and the Tour De Lentil bike ride at nine. The parade starts at 11a.m. on Grand Avenue and there will festivities in Reaney Park from 11 a.m. to 5p.m., including the Legendary Lentil Cookoff.
