Pullman Police call in SWAT team to burglary in progress at Puffin Glass
PULLMAN, WA - Pullman police are looking for the robbers who drove a stolen car into a pipe shop Thursday morning.

Police responded to a report of a burglary at Puffin Glass on Grand Avenue at about 4:45 Thursday morning. Pullman Police Commander Chris Tennant said officers thought the suspects were still inside when they arrived, but no one responded when they called for any occupants to exit the store.

"We didn't have enough manpower to do a good outside perimeter, and do a building search, and so I made the decision to call out SWAT," said Tennant. "It gives us more resources."

The Whitman County Regional SWAT team is made up of Whitman County Sheriff's deputies, Pullman Police officers, and Washington State University Police officers.

The suspects broke into the store by running a stolen car into the garage, and police believe they left on foot. Tennant said they're still investigating to find out what, if anything, was taken from the store.
