Powerball tickets are hot commodity with record jackpot up for grabs
LEWISTON, ID - Powerball is the tune everyone is singing to this week, as a record jackpot hits the stands.

After 15 consecutive draws of no one in the United States winning the Powerball jackpot, the winning amount is at $425 million. Local stores have already seen an increase in Powerball ticket sales and expect the numbers to rise before the drawing this Wednesday.

Lewiston Stinker Store Assistant Manager Nathan Lewis said many locals, like our reporter Veronica Miracle, are testing their luck this week.

"It's not uncommon to have a lot of the guys here in town," said Lewis. "There's a couple of groups of people that spend well over $150 a week on Powerball tickets."

This is the largest Powerball jackpot in it's 22 year's of business, however MegaMillions holds the record for the largest jackpot in history at $656 million.
