PULLMAN, WA - The Washington State University Creamery is expanding the retail section of its building by enclosing the outside patio.

Construction on the $200,000 project started Tuesday, and if all goes well it should be complete by early June.

"We've been here about 20 years, and we've noticed that on certain days of the year, we get pretty good crowds in and we're trying to figure out how to alleviate the crowds and get people through the lines a lot faster." said WSU Creamery Manager Russ Salvadalena.

Even though the creamery is expanding to make more room for ice cream customers, they're originally known for their "Cougar Gold" cheese. The store plans to keep its regular hours during construction, but it will close over Spring Break.
