LEWISTON, ID - Many from the community gathered Friday for the unveiling of a kiosk, which recognizes the history of print media, including the Lewiston Tribune in the LC Valley.

The new edition to Pioneer Park provides a glimpse into the first 50 years of print media. This is the 14th historical display that has been placed around the community, in hopes of sharing some interesting facts with park goers and people walking by.

"It's a capsule of the history of the First Territorial Capital, in the territory of Idaho," said former Lewiston Tribune Publisher Butch Alford. "It's worth looking at, it's fun for people of all ages."

This kiosk which is titled, "A Community of Pioneers Talks to Itself" was in the works for about two and a half years before the unveiling Friday in Fountain Circle at Pioneer Park.

The next kiosk will be placed in Prospect Park for the Chinese Cemetery.
