MOSCOW, ID - Almost 150 animal lovers and their dogs woke up early Saturday morning for a run through the University of Idaho campus.

The Humane Society of the Palouse held the Paw-louse 5-K Fun Run to raise money for the no-kill shelter. This was the third year that they organized the run, and they say it was the best one yet.

"I just love to see everybody out celebrating their pets," said Humane Society of the Palouse Board Member Jenni Probert. "I think it's wonderful to see everybody out together and the dogs play, and the people talk and we are all just out taking care of ourselves and our animals."

The route was just over three miles, and all the money raised during the race will go to general improvements at the shelter. The Humane Society of the Palouse currently has about 20 dogs and 60 cats up for adoption.
