COLFAX, WA - Two Washington men accused of killing a man appeared in a Whitman County courtroom Tuesday for a preliminary hearing.

Frank G. Lazcano, 24, of Pine City and Daniel C. Lazcano of Spokane are accused of the second-degree murder of 23-year-old Marcus A. Schur, of Rosalia.

On March 25th, Schur's body was discovered in a creek just south of Bonnie Lake. According to the Whitman County Coroner's Office, Schur died as a result of a massive hemorrhage due to multiple gunshots.

The two men were taken into custody on Friday. While the two are looking at second-degree murder charges, the pair may face first -degree murder if probable cause is determined to warrant the upgrade in charges.

Frank Lazcano is currently scheduled for arraignment this Friday, as is Daniel Lazcano who appeared very emotional in court. However his attorney's schedule may force him to appear on Thursday.

The two men are being held at the Whitman County jail on $500,000 bond each. A first-degree murder charge would carry a minimum of 20 years in prison in addition to five years for a firearm enhancement.
