AAA spokesperson wonders why prices are not dropping in Idaho.
LEWISTON, ID - High refinery production has helped drive gas prices down around the nation, however that trend is not holding true in Idaho.

According to AAA, Idaho gas prices are 26-cents higher than the national average. And with more than enough gasoline in the U.S. market, AAA Idaho Spokesman Dave Carlson said a little more regional transparency is needed to figure out why prices are not dropping in the Gem State.

"A little more regional transparency is just what the doctor ordered," said Carlson. "Is it because supplies are tight or is it because as was the case a year ago last November that retailers are just using it as an opportunity to do a little profit taking. We frankly don't know so we're not pointing fingers, it just does raise some questions."

The average price for a gallon of gas in Lewiston is $3.67 and in Coeur d'Alene it's $3.61.
