PULLMAN, WA - A Pullman Police Department detective is currently attending an FBI training in Quantico, Virginia, but before he left the local American Legion post presented him with a prestigious award.

Sergeant Dan Hargraves was named "Law Enforcement Officer of the Year" Monday night. Sergeant Hargraves was recognized for his organizational changes to the detective bureau.

"The changes resulted in an increase in efficiency, productivity, as well as an increase in morale in his bureau," said American Legion Maynard-Price Post #52 Commander Doug Salmon.

Hargraves has worked for the Pullman Police Department for almost 15 years. He currently supervises the Detective Bureau. Six other officers also received awards for their outstanding service, as well as a staff member of the department and a citizen who helped catch an armed robber last November.
