Orofino woman injured in crash on Highway 12

MYRTLE, ID - An Orofino woman was transported for medical care from the scene of a one-vehicle crash that occurred late Tuesday morning on Highway 12.

Idaho State Police controlled traffic along the highway at mile marker 18 near Myrtle after 57-year-old Barbara Papineau crashed her Honda Passport at around 11:30 and injured her arm in the collision. She was traveling eastbound when the accident happened.

"As she entered the left curve near milepost 18, she drifted off the right shoulder and crashed into the embankment," said ISP Cpl. Edward Koopman.

Papineau's SUV wound up coming to rest on the east side of the highway against a pile of boulders. She was taken to Orofino to have her injuries checked out.
