Oldest woman alive recognized by the Guinness World Records

Japan -- The new oldest woman in the world, Misao Ohkawa, celebrated her 115th birthday in the western Japanese city of Osaka Tuesday, at her retirement home.

She has officially been recognized by the Guinness World Records as the oldest woman alive. Misao was born in 1898. This birthday, she was presented with a strawberry and whipped creamed topped cake and some flowers to celebrate the special day with friends and family. When asked what the secret to longevity was, she said quote "sleep well, eat well, isn't that it?"
