No charges filed in fatality collision

Vernon was hit by 74-year-old Lee Baker of Lewiston.

LEWISTON, ID - A decision has been made in regards to the fatal collision that took place on December 13th in the Lewiston Orchards.

34-year-old Jacob Vernon was struck by an SUV while in his wheelchair at Fifth Street and Park Avenue. Vernon was hit by 74-year-old Lee Baker of Lewiston, who was driving north on Fifth Street when the collision occurred. Vernon later died of injuries he sustained in the tragic accident.

The case was taken to both the Nez Perce County Prosecutor's Office and the City Attorney's Office for charging recommendations. After reviewing all of the evidence and witness information both offices agreed there would be no charges filed against Baker.
