A little less than $80,000 will be used to provide for the salaries and benefits of the new hires. The money will come from a justice fund, which Auditor Patty Weeks said, is do-able, but will put them in a weaker position come 2014.
"We still really need to work on some sort of a continued revenue stream, continued source to continue to be able to afford the new hires and then additional ones," said Weeks.
Currently, the jail is already over their allotted overtime budget by 5%, a budget that should last the entire fiscal year. April 7th is the projected start date for the new hires.
