NAIA to open up bidding to host World Series
LEWISTON, ID - Officials from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics have announced they will open the bidding process for the rights to host the NAIA World Series in 2014 and 2015.

The announcement was made Tuesday morning in a press conference held at the LCSC Activity Center with Athletic Director Gary Picone, President J. Anthony Fernandez, LCSC Assistant Athletic Director and Tournament Director Brooke Cushman, and Avista Regional Business Manager Mike Tatko.

Tuesday's announcement means for the first time in 13 years, any organization, including all NAIA member schools, will be able to submit bids to host the event.

LCSC has held the exclusive hosting rights since winning the bid in 2000. The school has hosted the World Series a total of 20 times begining in 1984.

Bids to host the series in 2014 and 2015 are due to the NAIA by December 1, 2012. No timetable has been set as to when a decison on the bids will be made.
