LEWISTON, ID - Thousands of people are starting to arrive in the Valley for the Avista NAIA World Series, and the Lewiston Police will help out by limiting your chance of getting a parking ticket.

The Normal Hill residential parking restrictions will be suspended during the NAIA tournament. LPD Sergeant Brandon Hopple said this will make the hometown tradition more enjoyable for everyone, but it's important to be mindful of the residents living near the field.

"We do ask that people make sure they slow down, obey all traffic control devices," said Hopple. "Please don't block driveways, we are going to be enforcing all other parking violations, including handicap, fire zone and blocking sidewalks."

If caught breaking a traffic law it could result in a citation and having your vehicle towed. Parking restrictions will be waived through May 30th.
