City of Lewiston proposes EMS mutual aid plan to Clarkston
LEWISTON, ID - Regional fire and ambulance services, and the jurisdictions they serve, may be changing in the future following an offer at Wednesday night's Emergency Management Service meeting.

According to Lewiston Mayor Kevin Poole, the City of Lewiston is ready to make an offer to the City of Clarkston to work toward a plan that would encompass various emergency responder agencies from around the area. Poole told KLEW before the meeting however, that the an EMS service plan hinges on coming to an agreement on some key issues.

"The City of Lewiston is ready to make an offer to the City of Clarkston. But until we get the ambulance and EMS issue decided, we really can't do mutual aid," said Poole.

Poole said the taskforce, Councilor Dennis Ortman and Fire Chief Garry DeJung have come up with a proposal that is based on the previous ambulance and EMS agreement with some changes. KLEW will have more on the details of that plan Thursday evening.
