Moscow city council give to library.
MOSCOW, ID - The Moscow Public Library will soon be getting a facelift thanks to some extra funding from the city council.

Monday, the council agreed to give the library $25,000 to help fund its entryway upgrade. The Moscow Public Library Friends organization has already raised $50,000 for the project, and with the extra money from the city, they can start looking at bids from contractors.

"This is fantastic," said Moscow Public Library Friends President Lynne McCreight." "We're hoping to have the project done this summer, and we're adding a plaza that can be used for outdoor programs."

The new plaza will have water-wise and pollinator friendly landscape surrounding it, which will be used for outdoor education programs. The stairs and walkways will be redone to make it easier for people with disabilities to access the building, and the outdoor lighting will also be improved.
