CCA and Clarkston School District have 2nd mediation
Members of the CCA have been working without a contract this year following months of failed negotiations.
CLARKSTON, WA - A mediator joined the Clarkston Classified Association and the Clarkston School District Monday, in another attempt to settle contract negotiations for the union.

Members of the CCA, made up of mostly Title I learning assistants, have been working without a contract this year following months of failed negotiations between the two parties. CCA Member Communications Coordinator Angie Gustafson said this is the second meeting with a mediator because the district and the CCA have been unsuccessful coming to an agreement on certain issues.

"It's taken a long time because we're having a hard time reaching a middle ground," said Gustafson. "In the beginning the district didn't meet with us very regularly and they weren't making any movement towards any of the things we found really important for our members and our community."

Gustafson said the mediator agreed to stay all evening to finish up the negotiations.
