Employee steals donation box for Ronald McDonald House charities.
CLARKSTON, WA - We begin with a story of how the holiday season isn't always the season to give.

For some, it's the season to take And in this example, police said a man stole a donation box from the Clarkston McDonald's, and is now out of a job.

Clarkston Police Sergeant Josh Daniel said that early Wednesday morning an employee removed a drive-thru donation box for Ronald McDonald House charities. He stole the loose change and spent it on cigarettes and a lottery ticket.

Shortly after, he was fired from McDonald's but no charges were pressed so he wasn't arrested.

"They found the box in their dumpster," said Sergeant Josh Daniel. "And it was actually in a new garbage bag that only an employee would really have access to."

Sergeant Daniel wasn't able to release the name of the former employee because he wasn't arrested. Ronald McDonald House charities are known for creating and supporting programs that help sick children in need.
