LEWISTON, ID - Lewiston Police need your help in the case of a 24-year-old Lewiston man who woke up with a fractured skull over the weekend, but Wednesday night has no idea what happened.

The surveillance video from Boomtown American Saloon in Lewiston shows Leigh Zipse leaving the bar at about 1:30 a.m. by himself in a stable condition. Lewiston Police Department Lieutenant Budd Hurd said Zipse woke up Sunday morning with injuries that resemble dragging marks, implying he may have gotten hit by a car. But Zipse has no idea what happened and no witnesses have come forward about any accidents.

"Right now he just doesn't know enough to really remember putting things together," said Hurd. "So we just felt that it was better to back off at this point and let him heal up, then we'll question him on his own. When he's better and on his own terms."

Hurd said it's unclear whether alcohol played a role in the incident because his head injuries are so severe that trauma may be a factor also. If you have any information regarding the possible accident and how Zipse may have been injured, contact the Lewiston Police Department at 746-0171.
