SJRMC offers mammogram screening on National Mammography Day

SJRMC offers mammogram screening on National Mammography Day
LEWISTON, ID - October is not only Breast Cancer Awareness Month but Friday is also National Mammography Day.

Over a woman's lifetime, there's a one in eight chance she'll get breast cancer, and the survival rate for the deadly disease dramatically decreases each day it goes undiagnosed. The staff at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center wants to make sure that doesn't happen to you. The medical center will be holding a mammogram screening and exam day Friday, to bring awareness to the disease. Women over 40 who haven't had their annual mammogram are encouraged to attend. The screening only takes about 15 minute.

Appointments will be available from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Diagnostic Imaging Department and the Mobile Digital Mammography van will be staffed and ready to see patients. Anyone interested in a screening can call 799-6505 to schedule an appointment. Remember this important preventative tool, just takes about 15 minutes to complete.
