In Orofino, the 66th Annual Lumberjack Days kicks off Friday. There are free events throughout the weekend to commemorate the history of logging and shows how things were done before logging was mechanized.
"This event has been going on for 66 years,” said Tammy Gilmer. “And Orofino has a very strong logging heritage, and so it's just a way of continuing to celebrate that logging heritage."
For the kids, there's a carnival and fair that kicked off Thursday. Main events like the horse pulling contest and truck driving contest takes place Saturday.
