Parks & Rec. Director proposed voluntary smoke free policy.
LEWISTON, ID - A smoke-free policy at playgrounds and baseball fields in Lewiston is gaining momentum.

Lewiston Parks and Rec Director, Tim Barker presented the voluntary tobacco-free policy to the council on Monday. Barker said the council was very receptive of the idea, however language within the plan could change.

"Whether it should be geared towards all forms of tobacco or are we just looking at smoke," said Barker. "So that's something that the Parks and Rec Commission will look at their next commission meeting on March 19th."

The North Central Idaho Department will provide signage so the change in policy will come at little to no cost for the city.
