LEWISTON, ID - April is Parkinson's Awareness Month and the Lewiston Civic Theater will have musicians, bands, concessions and activities in hopes of raising money for the cause.

Parkinson's disease is a degenerative disorder of the central nervous system, and more than one million Americans live with disease.

"We've actually had Parkinson's affect us here," said Alaina Swearingen. "One of our regular volunteers, who's done a lot for the Civic has Parkinson's, and so we host the event here to raise money to go to research."

Admission to the event is through donations, as small or large as you can afford to give. And all of those donations will go to a Parkinson's research facility in Spokane. The event was on Saturday from 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. at the Lewiston Civic Theater.
