LEWISTON, ID - A residential area has officially become a commercial zone.

In a six to one vote the Lewiston City Council decided to uphold the decision by Planning and Zoning to change zoning within the Normal Hill area. The request came from The Neighborhood Market owner, who said he wants easier access for his customers.

"Make the property use a little better than it is right now," said Neighborhood Market Owner, Sukhjit Gill. "So that's the reason why we want the neighbor house to actually open up the area where the gas pumps are going."

Gill said he plans to knock the house down to promote the development. Councilor Ged Randall was the only one to vote against this measure.
