Voters head to polls for school district levies.
MOSCOW, ID - Three school districts in Latah County are asking taxpayers to head to the polls Tuesday to vote on supplemental levies.

The Genesee, Kendrick, and Potlatch school districts are all running their annual levy elections Tuesday from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Potlatch's Superintendent said they're running their election a little early this year because the district is barely getting by with the funding they currently have.

"This is just to maintain the current status, really, of our school district," said Potlatch Superintendent Jeff Circa. "It's not putting any changes in, it's not bringing any additions into the program."

The Potlatch levy would increase taxes to $6.58 per thousand dollars of assessed property value, that's a .49 increase from what taxpayers paid last year. In Kendrick, taxpayers are voting on a $825,000 levy that would increase taxes by .09 and the Genesee School District's levy is for the same amount as last year's.
