Lapwai man involved in Normal Hill shooting appears in court
LEWISTON, ID - A Lapwai man appeared in Nez Perce County Second District Court Wednesday on charges related to his involvement in last month's Normal Hill shooting.

Michael James Wilson faces multiple charges of burglary, use of a deadly weapon in commission of a felony, attempted murder, and assault with intent to commit a serious felony. The preliminary hearing, and subsequent hearing of motions, led to testimony in regard to what happened on the morning of May fifth.

"At that point the door got kicked open, and hit her in the forehead," said witness Christopher Perin. It knocked her down to the ground, then Michael Wilson came in jumped on me and I kicked him and punched him."

According to Lewiston police, Wilson, kicked in the door of a home in the Normal Hill area, and fired a single shot from a handgun at Christopher Perini of Lewiston. The incident is believed to have been provoked due to a disagreement about a relationship with a woman.

Wilson will appear in district court a week from Wednesday.
