Newly elected Mayor for Moscow takes oath.
MOSCOW, ID - The City of Moscow is officially under new leadership, after the new mayor was sworn in at the first council meeting of the year.

Mayor Bill Lambert took his oath Monday night, along with two brand new council members, John Weber and Art Bettge. Six-year Council member Walter Steed also renewed his oath.

Former Mayor Nancy Chaney opened the council meeting for the last time, saying Moscow is lucky to see a peaceful transition in government.

"We have different political positions, but we don't necessarily have to equate those with personal disdain," said Chaney. "I think we learn lessons during campaign season, and reminded of the civility of our community."

Mayor Lambert thanked Chaney for her eight years of service as mayor, and two years of service as council member. Council members Tim Brown and Sue Scott also said their final words as council members Monday night.
