LEWISTON, ID - The Lewis-Clark State College Community Volunteer Program received $1.37 million in funding.

Americorps Program Director Charlette Kremer said the The Lewis-Clark service corps is supporting 116 full and part-time Americorps service members this year.

"The funds go to train our members, uniforms, staff the administer the program,"said Kremer. "Health insurance, full time members receive health insurance."

Every year the program submits a proposal to request money to support their large infrastructure. They compete against other Americorps programs in a national competition for funding. Kremer says, without the money, they'd be unable to support all the programs they've created and their large staff.
